It’s pronounced like “Julia.”
And I’m a breaking news reporter at Gothamist and WNYC, NPR’s member station in New York City.
I previously covered breaking news at NPR and education, and other national news, as a reporting fellow at The New York Times.
My bylines have appeared in POLITICO, where I covered criminal justice reform in Florida; CNN, as a writer for its trends & culture team and other publications, including The Atlantic, HuffPost and The New Republic.
I graduated from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill’s Hussman School of Journalism and Media, where I was a fully funded Roy H. Park Fellow. During my time at Carolina, I received both the Tom Wicker and Outstanding M.A. Student awards in 2020, and 2021, respectively. I also received the 2021 Curve Award for Emerging Journalists, in collaboration with the Association of LGBTQ Journalists (NLGJA), and the 2021 Student Journalist of the Year Award by the National Association of Black Journalists (NABJ).
I try to keep this site as updated as possible. But the best way to keep up with my work is to follow me on Twitter.
